The 16As were runners up in the Cup competition. Thea made a very strong debut for U16s in the morning before Dani returned from u19 duties. Fantastic shooting by Emma and Holly and brilliant play by everyone. A dramatic semi final win couldn’t quite be repeated in the final, just a couple more minutes…

Our U15 A team won the BINL Tournament on Sunday. The squad who had no substitutes started the day off slowly, but were fully switched on by the afternoon resulting in a very convincing win in the finals against Parkside. Fantastic achievement

It’s been a great weekend of netball for several of our teams, playing outside in glorious sunshine. It’s great to be back!

On Friday night, the U14A team put in a sprited performance against Kingsway Power in the semi-final of the 2020 national Sisters N Sport competition which had been postponed last year. Kingsway Power won on the night but there were many positives in this first run-out since lockdown.

On Sunday the U13A side met Hucclecote in this years Sisters N Sport competition, fighting back in the third and fourth quarters to ultimately be defeated by just three points.

The U16A team were victorious against Yendys in the first round of the ENG Sport cup. In a hard-fought game Thunderbirds took control in the final quarter to win by 28 goals to 20. Well done girls!

There’s plenty more to come in what is shaping up to be a very exciting season. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Our U14A team lost 27 – 39 against Kingsway Power in their first run-out since lockdown in the Sisters N Sport national competition semi final. The game had been postponed in 2020 when the teams were U13.

There were however many positives in an exciting and fiercely competitive game against one of the top clubs in the UK.

Thunderbirds played dynamic and exciting netball, restricting Kingsway Power to their lowest points score and narrowest win-margin so far in the competition. Our girls kept their heads up throughout the game and pushed right to the end, ultimately winning the final quarter by 10 goals to 8.

The match was played on a sunny but cool Friday evening on an outdoor court. England Netball COVID guidelines were observed.

We’d like to thank the Kingsway Power players, coaches and parents for taking the 2Hr journey to join us. We’ll look forward to our next encounter, perhaps in the 2021 competition!
